Following my all day grinding session, I finally completed the ring with an all day welding session. I preheated the whole lot which took some time as its thick. Next I did the weld runs. 1, root run. 2, filling run. 3, run to take it flush with the surface. 4, fillet run. 5, final fillet. Including the other side, this piece has taken 8 runs in total. Note the wooden ring that stayed on the whole time to protect the surface. |
