I fitted the proper retaining rings.  The lenses stick out of the viewport seats by about 1mm.  This is due to paint thickness on the face of the seat.  So, in order to take up this small amount, I made 1mm gaskets.  These are made from neoprene\cork as its quite a hard material, but can still provide a seal.  These gaskets do not cover the lens at all but only take up the small gap between the edge of the seat and the retaining ring.  A second epdm ring covers the entire underside of the retaining ring.  This prevents the ring from being in direct contact with the lens and I am hoping will provide additional sealing.  We will see if this method works.  All the flat viewports are done.
