I fitted the compass and external depth gauge.  A clandestine dismantling of the compass in the shop revealed it was the kind I was after.  Completely oil filled with a flexible bladder underneath.  I’ll take a pic of it dismantled if I remember.  I have mounted it under the front fairing as its as far away from any iron as i can get.  If I place the compass near the hull or too near to the main tank frames, it noticably moves due to compass deviation.  However, where it is, it seems to be ok.  The case will of course fill with water, but its all plastic, so it should be ok.

I also fitted a standard scuba depth gauge onto a bracket as a secondary gauge.  Not sure its in the right place but it will do for now.
